After the Palisades Fire, virtually everything had been disintegrated into ash. The outside of the filing cabinet was horrific looking, but it did its job. Inside, all of our valuable papers were completely intact. Our passports were pristine. Our deeds were perfect. Our will and trusts were just fine. We just wish we had put more in it. Under its lifetime warranty, FireKing provided us with a new one.

FAQs

Can we store oversized blueprints or technical manuals in fire-rated units?

Yes. The FireKing Storage Cabinet line offers wide-body designs and adjustable shelving, making them ideal for oversized industrial documents, binders, and specialized tools.

We store flammable liquids on-site—do we need specialized cabinets?

Yes, absolutely. Standard fire-resistant file cabinets are NOT designed for storing flammable or combustible liquids. You need OSHA 29 CFR 1910.110-compliant flammable storage cabinets, which are engineered to contain a fire rather than protect from one. Mixing the two product types creates both a safety and a liability risk. FireKing offers multiple sizes and colors of Flammable Safety Cabinets to meet your needs.

Our facility runs 24/7 — what happens to your cabinets in a prolonged fire event?

FireKing's UL fire ratings are tested at specific temperature and duration benchmarks (e.g., 1,750°F for 1 hour). In prolonged industrial fire events that exceed the rated duration, interior temperatures will eventually rise. For critical document protection in high-risk industrial facilities, we recommend 2-hour rated products as a minimum, paired with a suppression system and offsite document backup strategy.

What's the right fire-rated solution for storing engineering drawings and blueprints?

Large-format documents like engineering drawings require oversized or blueprint-specific fire-resistant storage. FireKing fire rated storage cabinets offer multiple configurations depending on your needs.

Do you offer products for tool or parts storage with security features?

FireKing's product line is focused on fire-resistant document and data storage. However, our storage cabinets are well-suited for storing critical documentation, maintenance manuals, parts ordering records, and compliance paperwork in industrial environments. For combination tool and document security, we can recommend integration with industrial storage system vendors.

Why is fire protection important in industrial environments?

Industrial sites store critical documents, plans, and compliance records that must be protected.

Can FireKing products handle rugged conditions?

Yes. They are built with high-quality materials for durability and long-term use.

Do they protect against water and impact?

Yes. Many models are designed to protect water damage from sprinklers and fire-hose spray in the event of a fire and have a 30 ft impact rating.
