AuditLok XLV

As of 2007 the United States federal government has changed the dates for Daylight Savings Time (DST). The “Spring forward” date has moved to the second Sunday in March and the “Fall Back” date has moved to the first Sunday in November. Safes with Serial Number SP2007009051 and above support the new DST schedule as part of the Auto-Daylight Savings feature and no futher action is required.

A software patch is required for all safes built with Serial Number SP2007009050 and below (otherwise they will auto-adjust according to the pre-2007 schedule).

A hardware update may also be required for safes with Serial Number SP2004003062 and below.

Recommended Action

  • For the Spring 2007 DST change we recommend you disable the Auto-DST feature and change your clock manually (detailed procedures below; Supervisor or Administrator permission required).
  • If you have a maintenance agreement with FireKing Security Group Commercial Services, we will install the software patch in your safe at our next regularly scheduled preventative maintenance visit with new software (and hardware, if required) to support the new DST schedule starting in 2007. All others must contact NKL Technical Service (1.800.452.4655) to schedule a software upgrade.
  • Charges will apply for the service call if your organization does not have a service agreement with us. Charges will apply for the hardware upgrade, if required.
  • In the event you take no action, your clock will automatically change for DST on the wrong dates.
