The following is a list of problems along with likely causes and associated solutions.

Drawer Will Not Close

  • Loose material (debris) in the drawer track or behind the drawer body:
    1. Check around the front inside of track for debris.
    2. Check behind the drawer body for debris.
  • Cam turned down:
    Check the cam on the left inside wall. The cam should be turned up so that the sidepost will clear.
  • Drawers partially opened:
    Check the others drawers to make sure they are completely closed, a partially opened drawer can cause the lock rods to bind.
  • Rubber stops on the back of the slides:
    Fully extend the drawer and check the rubber stops on the rear of the slides on both sides. If the rubbers are not seated on the slides all the way it will be necessary to remove the drawer and tap the stops into place.

Drawers Will Not Open

  • Drawers are not properly shut:
    Check to ensure that all drwares are completely closed. A partially open drawer will cause the lock rods to bind.

Cabinet Will Not Unlock

  • Side catches are too tight:
    Follow the side catch adjustment procedure to adjust the side catches.
  • Lock rod binding:
    1. Tap on the side of the cabinet with a rubber mallet about 3 inches from the front of the cabinet.
    2. Remove the lock rod.
    3. Drill through the top file.

Cabinet Will Not Lock

  • Side catches are too tight:
    1. Check the lock pins for each drawer located on the right side of the cabinet and tighten with a flat screwdriver.
    2. Make sure the lock pin in the eccentric is in place and securely fastened to the lock rod.
  • Side catch flipper bent: Check the flippers on each side catch. Bend the flipper to a 90° angle to the drawer body.
  • Lock bypass feature is activated:
    Make sure the lock bypass is deactivated. Identify the lock/unlock position with the operating sticker located directly behind the side catch.
  • Key plunger missing eccentric:
    1. Open the top drawer and check the lock plunger for side to side play. Remove the key lock by removing the roll pin from the plunger and turning the key to the unlock position pull the keylock forward. Tighten the screw with a screwdriver.
    2. Using a screwdriver, bend the eccentric bolt away from the side of the cabinet.
  • Loose or missing lock pins:
    1. Check the lock pins for each drawer located on the lock rod on the right side of the cabinet and tighten pins with a flat screwdriver.
    2. Make sure the lock pin in the eccentric is in place and securely fastened to the lock rod.
