Image Vault Announces Digital Dining Interface

Released 9-19-06

Image Vault, the leading provider of end-to-end digital video security solutions, and Menusoft Systems, an industry pioneer of PC-based point-of-sale solutions, today announced the release of a custom interface between Menusoft’s Digital Dining product suite and Image Vault’s DVR software. The two companies also announced a strategic alliance between Image Vault and Menusoft Systems to promote each other’s products.

According to Brandon Ring, National Sales Manager for Image Vault, the benefits for Digital Dining’s user-base of 120,000 restaurant locations are clear. “The Digital Dining / Image Vault interface will enable restaurants that deploy Digital Dining to simultaneously view video and transaction information from Digital Dining within Image Vault’s DVR software.” Ring continued: “suspect transactions from the POS, such as Discounts, No Sales, and Voids, can be entered into Image Vault’s exception reporting database for quick and efficient review, and email alerts can also be set up for instant notification of priority exceptions.”

This interface also greatly benefits the VARs who offer Digital Dining to their restaurant customers. Although the benefits of a DVR integrated with the POS have been definitively proven for the restaurant industry, the technical process of actually interfacing a DVR to a POS system has been fraught with guesswork because the DVRs and POS systems are designed and manufactured so disparately. According to Andre Nataf, Strategic Alliance & Large Accounts Manager for Menusoft Systems, “since the Image Vault / Digital Dining interface is factory certified by both Image Vault and Menusoft, it is now a much easier engineering proposition for a VAR to sell and install a POS that is already integrated with a DVR.”

The bottom line is that the business relationship between the two companies and technological enhancement makes it easier for shared customers and VARs to maximize the use of both these best-of-breed restaurant industry solutions. The Digital Dining interface is available now on Image Vault Version 8.6 and on Digital Dining Version 7.3.04. Please contact Image Vault, to receive software for the interface.

POS dealers and VARs seeking to increase sales to existing customers by selling Image Vault DVRs interfaced with Digital Dining should contact Brandon Ring at 888-462-4382 ext #8, 3535 or brandonr@image-vault.com or Andre Nataf, Strategic Alliance & Large Accounts Manager, Menusoft Systems, Developers of Digital Dining at 303-522-2652, andrenataf@mindspring.com.

Interested restaurant owners and operators should contact their local Digital Dining dealer or Image Vault.

Since 1998, when Image Vault developed a digital product that was a plug and play replacement for the VCR system, its recorders have been proven in many successful applications nationwide. Advancements in the product family, including the latest release of Image Vault PRO-Command, continue to enable Image Vault to extend its sales penetration to other markets that are benefiting equally well from its established product line.
