Configuring The Clock on Your EXL Safe

If your EXL Safe is equipped with an intelligent lock package refer to the links below for deltailed instructions how to configure the clock for Daylight Savings Time. :

AuditLok XL (Pre-2008 Electronics)

Your safe key (# 3 to # 7) will enable you to make this change. Twice a year the time needs to be adjusted to account for Daylight Savings Time (DST). DST is controlled by a factory set window. It may only be “SET” to DST in March/April and “REMOVE” in October/November. If you have any problems with these processes, contact your District Manager. For any unusual problems with DST, contact NKL Technical Service at (800) 452-4655.
  • Use the arrow buttons on the right hand side of display to make selections in the following steps.
  • Present your key and enter your PIN code
  • Select “SUPERVISORY”
  • Select “TIME”
  • Select “DAYLIGHT SAVINGS”
  • Select “SET DST”
  • Select "DONE" to accept the change and exit.
  • Press “ESC/0" Button as needed until the main screen appears

Vindicator II

Vindicator II users can set their Daylight Savings Time (DST) on ANY date prior to the Sunday when the change is scheduled to take effect. For any unusual problems with DST, contact the NKL Technical Service at (800) 452-4655.

WARNING:
This process MUST be completed one day prior to the scheduled change. The time on your safe will NOT change if you attempt to make the change on that Sunday.
  • Present your key and enter your code
  • SELect, “Administration”
  • SELect “Parameters”
  • SELect “Operation”
  • SELect “Schedule”
  • SELect “Daylight Savings”
  • Input, 031107 (DDMMYY of the next Spring Forward date), on the top line for SPRING FORWARD. (If the Date is already beyond this date, then type in Tomorrow's date. Do NOT type in Today's date.)
  • Then use the down arrow key to go to the FALL BACK line.
  • Input 102906 (DDMMYY of the next Fall Back date) on the bottom line for FALL BACK.
  • Press “SELect”.
  • Press the ESCape key 5 times, this will take you back to the main screen. Your process is complete. If your display gets stuck on “Wait” for more than 20 seconds please read the bottom note.
  • You can verify the time change in the early morning hours of the 4th. The time will Change at about 2:00 to 4:00 a.m. on Sunday morning. The time will not change if you typed in today's date.

NOTE: If your display gets stuck on “Wait” for more than 20 seconds, press the Escape button. If this does not clear the display then you will have to unplug the transformer of the safe or turn the power off to the surge protector. Wait about 20 seconds then reapply power. You will hear a beep, then the display will say “On Line Configuring” this screen will remain for about 20 seconds. Repeat the above procedures. If the safe continues to get stuck on “Wait”, then contact your Area, District or Regional or Loss Prevention Manager (as applicable) in order to get the Daylight Savings parameters set.

Vindicator I

WARNING: This process must be completed ON Sunday morning, the day of Daylight Saving change. If you perform this function prior to that day, you will change your time by one hour before the Daylight Savings time takes effect. For any unusual problems with DST, contact the NKL Technical Service at (800) 452-4655.
  • Present your key and enter your code
  • SELect, “ADMINISTRATION”
  • SELect, “LOCKS AND CLOCKS”
  • SELect, “DAYLIGHT SAVINGS”
  • SELect, “IN EFFECT” for Spring Forward or “NOT IN EFFECT ” for Fall Back
  • Press ESCape until you are back to the time and date, your process is complete.
